Independence Day Celebration-Maa Tujhe Salaam

On the 15th of August 2019, NPS Whitefield campus reverberated with patriotic fervor, as enthusiastic students assembled on the verdant ground, festively decorated with tricolor balloons and buntings. The Chief Guest Maj General SKH Johnson (Retd.) was warmly welcomed by the Management.

Our Principal Dr. Reetu Thapa addressed the students motivating them to contribute proactively to the nation as value driven citizens and spirited green warriors, consistently building leadership qualities.

The National flag was hoisted by Maj Gen Johnson. In his speech to the students he expressed that the two attributes that they need to build are self-motivation and discipline, which will carry them a long way as they carve their future goals. The onus is on the future generation who understands their responsibilities and works towards building a self-sustaining community.

The students of classes VI and VII were given a platform to develop and present their multiple intelligences in vocal and instrumental music, art, and oratorical skills. The auditorium resonated with melodies set to the theme of “Maa Tujhe Salaam”. The students playing the guitar, keyboard and percussion instruments were in perfect synchronization with the harmonious choir.

The unique aspect of the presentation was the engagement of the students of the art club, Anamitra Garg and Anuva Gupta, who displayed artistic skill with extempore creations on a patriotic theme, as the choir performed. Their masterpieces were exhibited as the medley concluded.

The mesmerizing foot tapping fusion dance was presented by the students which came to a close with a pyramid formation by the boys of class of VI and VII. Patriotic fervor was highlighted when a child atop the pyramid waved the tricolor, which was a proud moment for all of us.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by the confident and poised student comperes Harsha and Purvi who expressed their gratefulness to all. They specially thanked the Music, Dance and Art teachers for their dedicated guidance to present a stellar and memorable event.
