Campaign for Waste Segregation

The ‘Campaign for Waste Segregation’ is spearheaded by the well-known Bangalore-based Indian folk/fusion band ‘Swarathma’ in collaboration with ‘ITC’. Their main agenda is to create awareness about the harmful effects of the use of plastic on Mother Earth and to encourage waste segregation.

The band ‘Swarathma’ was invited to our school on 16th October 2019 to meet the students from Class 3 to 7. This occasion was graced by our Directors, Mr. Vivek Garg and Mr. Tanuj Garg, along with the leadership team of our school. In the beginning, Mr. Jishnu Dasgupta, the bass guitarist had an interactive session with the students, where he introduced the talented members of the band. He also explained the purpose of their visit to our school and encouraged our students to say ‘No’ to the use of plastic and to spread this message among the people they know. NPS Whitefield took a pledge to do waste segregation in the right manner.

The ‘Swarathma’ band presented a couple of songs, one in Hindi, ‘Aasmaan ki Dukaan’ and another in Kannada, ‘Ee Bhoomi Swarga Aagutige Nodu’. Our students’ enthusiasm to watch and listen to the live band was noteworthy.
