“If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.” — Loren Eiseley
The library team at National Public School Whitefield organized an educational event titled – ‘Mr. Water Live Show’. The show, presented by Scholastic, featured interactive experiments that simplified complex science concepts in an engaging manner.
Key highlights included a demonstration of solidifying water with Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) and an experiment with silica gel that absorbed moisture from the air, making it seem as if the water had ‘disappeared’. These demonstrations showed that moisture can be remove from materials without heat.
The event was further enhanced by the presence of a mascot – ‘Mr. Water’, which captivated the students. The show was concluded with an important reminder that although 71% of the Earth's surface is covered with water, only 3% of it is drinkable!
To sum up, the ‘Mr. Water Live Show’ was a highly successful and engaging entertainment with valuable lessons on water conservation. The students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of using water wisely.
